Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is used as a food additive. It is produced from starch by partial hydrolysis and is usually found as a whitehygroscopic spray-dried powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might be either moderately sweet or almost flavorless. It is commonly used for the production of soft drinksand candy. It can also be found as an ingredient in a variety of other processed foods.

Maltodextrin is widely known as safe, there is no limit on dosage of intake. There is no proof showing that acquiring Maltodextrin will do any harm to special groups, including newborns, children, pregnant, and other applicable vulnerable groups. It should be safe to use Maltodextrin in food and beverages as a food additive without any side effects.
