Anticaking Agents

An anticaking agent is a food additive placed in powdered or granulated materials, to prevent the formation of lumps and for easy transport, packaging and consumption, such as table salt. Some normally used anticaking agents are aluminosilicate, sodium ferrocyanide, tricalcium phosphate, sodium silicate, silicon dioxide (E551), calcium silicate (E552) and calcium carbonate. Some foods made of powder and granules have a tendency to absorb water and clump together, such as instant soup, creamer, icing sugar, and table salt. They will be difficult to use if the ingredients don’t flow freely. Anti-caking agents are used to prevent this situation. Some natural anti caking agents are talc and bentonite, while others are manufactured from natural sources, such as silicon dioxide, sodium silicate and calcium silicate. They usually make the food less sticky by soaking up water. You can find top anti caking agent manufacturers and suppliers from okfoodadd.com.
